The plan
Days 1-2 Edinburgh: Royal Mile, castle, Arthur's Seat hike. Day 3 drive north via Stirling, overnight Glencoe. Day 4 continue to Isle of Skye (via ferry or the road bridge). Days 4-5 Skye: Old Man of Storr, Quiraing, Fairy Pools. Day 6 drive back via Loch Ness and Inverness. Day 7 return to Edinburgh, fly home.
