Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner

The Boeing 787-8 is the original Dreamliner variant and the smallest in the family. It entered service with All Nippon Airways in 2011, marking the debut of Boeing's composite widebody generation. The 787-8 seats 210 to 248 passengers in typical configurations and has a range of around 7,300 nautical miles, which made it a game-changer for mid-sized long-haul routes when it launched. The aircraft's launch was famously plagued by battery problems that grounded the entire fleet in 2013, but the issues were resolved within months and the 787-8 has operated reliably since. As larger 787 variants have taken over the more lucrative routes, the 787-8 has become less commercially relevant, and orders have shifted heavily toward the 787-9 and 787-10. The aircraft remains in service with airlines including ANA, Japan Airlines, United, Ethiopian Airlines, and Qatar Airways.
